An AI working group tapped by California Gov. Gavin Newsom is urging lawmakers to place transparency requirements on developers and grant their employees whistleblower protections.
The panel’s final policy framework, released Tuesday, offers legislators a road map on how to regulate the most advanced AI models, particularly those that pose a potential public safety risk.
