Carvana LLC and one of its former employees received preliminary approval for a roughly $1 million class action settlement, after the company allegedly didn’t fairly compensate workers for hours they worked.
Magistrate Judge Thomas S. Hixson, of the US District Court for the Northern District of California, preliminarily approved the settlement for a class of all current and former hourly and non-exempt employees at Carvana after determining the agreement was fair, reasonable, and adequate. Hixson said the process the parties went through to reach the agreement was fair and that it had “no obvious deficiencies.”
