A federal district court in New York granted Hillionaire Productions LLC and A&E Television Networks LLC’s motion to dismiss Psychic Readers Network’s copyright infringement, trademark infringement, and unjust enrichment action based on a biopic about the Miss Cleo television psychic character. The court said that the complaint doesn’t mention if, when, and where the copyrighted Miss Cleo tarot deck, book, and videocassettes appear in the allegedly infringing biopic, and that the trademark claim must be dismissed for lack of standing.
