Challenged claims of Sisvel S.p.A.'s patent that relates to a data transmission method and a data retransmission method which can reduce loss in data transmission aren’t unpatentable as anticipated by or obvious over prior art, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board said, in an inter partes review by Cradlepoint Inc., Honeywell International Inc., Sierra Wireless Inc., and Thales DIS AIS Deutschland GmbH. The board determined that the challenged claims aren’t unpatentable as anticipated by or obvious over prior art that relates to a method for performing a data transmission between a sending entity and a receiving entity.
