CoStar Group Sues Zillow for Alleged Copyright Infringement

CoStar Group sued Zillow for allegedly publishing more than 46,000 of CoStar’s copyrighted photographs on Zillow.com and its partner sites, potentially making Zillow liable for more than $1 billion in damages.

  • CoStar alleges Zillow displayed its images more than 250,000 times on its site alone
  • CoStar says Zillow published its images on Redfin and Realtor.com through recent partnerships
  • CoStar’s Founder and CEO Andy Florance said Zillow’s actions are “outrageous” and the company will take action against other sites if they do not remove CoStar’s images
