Florida Supreme Court Nominees Await DeSantis ‘Capstone’ Pick

Florida’s next Supreme Court justice is among six conservative jurists vetted by a special selection panel and sent to Gov. Ron DeSantis Tuesday.

DeSantis (R) will pick from state appeals court judges Roger K. Gannam, Robert E. Long Jr., Joshua A. Mize, and Adam Scott Tanenbaum, along with chief deputy state attorney general John Matthew Guard and former appeals court judge Samuel J. Salario Jr. The system leaves the final call up to DeSantis, whose picks have overhauled the judiciary over his two terms in Tallahassee.
