Genius Sports Patent Suit Says SportsCastr Infringed Video Tech

Sports technology company Genius Sports SS LLC accused SportsCastr Inc. of infringing three patents related to video augmentation technology via its PANDA Studio software.

According to the complaint filed Monday, Genius Sports came to own US Patent Nos. 10,769,446, 11,120,271, and 11,373,405 when parent Genius Sports Ltd. acquired Second Spectrum—which developed advanced sports analytics technology for major leagues, including the NBA—in 2021.
