A federal judge denied an attorney’s request to withdraw from representing an artist suing the US Copyright Office over rejected registration for AI-generated work.
Judge William J. Martinez rejected attorney Tamara Pester’s motion to withdraw as counsel for “lack of sufficient good cause shown,” according to a text-only order in the US District Court for the District of Colorado.
Pester cited an “impending medical procedure requiring both time and a monetary commitment” and her client Jason Allen’s “current inability to pay for legal services” in her April 4 filing.
