Kawasaki Wins $48 Million in Rorze Semiconductor Patent Suit

Rorze Corp. owes Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. $48.35 million for infringing a patent covering robots used to manufacture semiconductor chips, a jury found.

Rorze willfully infringed US Patent No. RE45,772, according to a jury’s March 13 verdict in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.

The jury rejected Rorze’s arguments that the ‘772 patent was invalid, awarding Kawasaki $16.65 million for lost profits and $31.7 million for royalties.
