New Orleans Pelicans Want Artist’s Suit Booted from Michigan

The New Orleans Pelicans asked a Michigan federal judge to dismiss an artist’s copyright lawsuit over the team’s Instagram posts featuring deflated basketballs, or to at least move it to its backyard.

The NBA franchise lacks ties to Michigan, and social media posts including an array of deflated basketballs artist Tyrrell Winston alleged infringes his work were created in Louisiana, the team told the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
