Nvidia’s Machine Learning Product Targeted in Patent Lawsuit

Nvidia Corp. infringed a patent directed to improving the performance of machine learning tools, according to a federal lawsuit.

Nvidia’s RAPIDS cuML tool uses “advanced machine learning workflows” pioneered by Health Discovery Corp. and captured in its US Patent No. 10,402,685, according to the complaint filed in US District Court for the District of Delaware.

“These frameworks allow developers to train models that automatically evaluate, rank, and prune features or parameters based on their contribution to model accuracy or efficiency,” the complaint said.

Nvidia didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
