Paramount Wants Four Nokia Patents Thrown Out of Streaming Suit

Paramount Skydance Corp. told a Delaware federal judge four Nokia Technologies Oy. patents are unpatentable and should be dismissed from the Finnish company’s infringement lawsuit over streaming technology.

Nokia’s US Patent Nos. 8,776,204, 8,050,321, 6,968,005 and 7,082,450 are invalid, Paramount argued in a brief along with a motion to dismiss Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. Paramount argued that the asserted user authentication, organizing data, and applying mathematical formulas methods are abstract ideas ineligible for patent protection.
