Snap Inc. shouldn’t succeed in its bid to end an infringement suit brought by the owner of internet advertising patents that has sued a handful of big tech companies, a magistrate judge said.
Judge Derek Gilliland of the US Distrcit Court for the Western District of Texas wrote in a report and recommendation that AlmondNet Inc. lodged sufficiently specific accusations explaining how Snapchat’s computer systems directly infringed two of its patents and how the defendant allegedly caused the indirect infringement of a third patent by Snap’s advertising partners.
