Taiwanese Tech Firms Fail to Dismiss Patent Suit Over Projectors

A pair of Taiwanese projector makers failed to convince a Texas federal judge to throw out a Japanese consumer electronics company’s patent infringement allegations over projector technology.

Coretronic Corp. and Optoma Corp. didn’t offer any legal authority to show how a magistrate judge erred in ruling that their invalidity arguments were premature, according to an order filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Judge Robert Schroeder III adopted the recommendation, denying the companies’ motion to dismiss two patents from the dispute brought by Maxell Ltd.
