Tesla Convinces Court to Dismiss Google, X Tracker Class Lawsuit

Tesla persuaded a federal court to dismiss a California resident’s proposed class suit that alleged the automaker’s use of online trackers from Google and X violated the state’s Invasion of Privacy law.

The US District Court for the Central District of California lacks subject matter jurisdiction over the dispute, as Plaintiff Peter Dawidzik failed to sufficiently allege an injury in fact—one that was concrete and not speculative, Judge Kenly Kiya Kato ruled Monday. Kato left leave to amend.
