Valtrus Hits Google With New Patent Suit After Recent Dismissal

An Irish patent owner sued Google LLC over its cloud and search engines products two days after a California federal judge dismissed its separate consolidated case against the tech giant.

Valtrus Innovations Ltd. alleged Google infringed US Patent Nos. 6,728,704, 6,816,809 and 7,346,604, in a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. The patents protect methods concerning search engines and pay-per-use systems.

Valtrus’s parent Key Patent Innovations Ltd. Is also a plaintiff in the suit.

Google didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
