Vitas Hospice Services LLC was sued by a patient for allegedly failing to protect personal information from a data breach that may have exposed Social Security numbers, medical records, and next of kin contact information.
One of Vitas’ patients, Claudia Hartmann, filed a proposed class action in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida. On behalf of US data breach victims, Hartmann seeks to assert claims for negligence, breach of implied contract and of confidence, and unjust enrichment.
