Warner Music Customers Advance Class Action Over Data Breaches

Warner Music Group must face several claims of a proposed class action alleging it negligently failed to protect the personal information of around 130,000 consumers that was exposed in data breaches in 2017 and 2020.

The plaintiffs alleged concrete injuries sufficient to establish their standing to sue in federal court, and adequately pleaded claims of negligence, breach of implied contract, and violations of the the California Consumer Protection Law, Judge Paul G. Gardephe of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said Wednesday.
