West Texas Gas Inc. reached a deal to end a proposed class action alleging it negligently failed to protect the personal information of nearly 57,000 customers and employees that was exposed in a 2023 data breach.
Judge David Counts of the US District Court for the Western District of Texas administratively closed the case Tuesday, four days after lead plaintiff Brian Morrow and the company filed a joint notice of settlement with the court. Counts granted WTG’s motion to dismiss all but one count of the lawsuit in a January order.
