Arbitrator Thomas A. Pontolillo ruled that the City of Bucyrus didn’t improperly apply provisions of various CBA articles regarding the amount of paid leave provided to police officers who worked 10-hour shifts as opposed to those who worked 8-hour shifts. The union argued that because the amount of paid leave was measured in terms of hours, those working 10-hour shifts effectively lost time off by being awarded the same amount of leave as those working 8-hour shifts.
