AA Metals Inc. is challenging U.S. trade remedy duties on its imports of common alloy aluminum sheet, arguing to a federal trade court that the Chinese-origin inputs for the merchandise underwent a substantial change in Turkey.
The U.S. maintains antidumping and countervailing duties on imports from China of common alloy aluminum sheet, which is used in a variety of applications including building facades, street signs, and tractor trailers for trucks.
The Commerce Department in January determined that Chinese-origin common alloy aluminum sheet re-rolled by Turkish producer PMS Metal fell within the scope of the duty orders.
