Cognizant’s Punitive Award in Trade Secrets Case Cut Again

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. and its subsidiary are owed nearly $70 million in compensatory damages and another roughly $140 million in punitive damages in a decade-long trade secret and copyright dispute with two Atos SE units.

Syntel Inc. and Syntel Sterling Best Shores Mauritius Ltd. owe the roughly $210 million in damages after the US District Court for the Southern District of New York amended the punitive damages award and affirmed the compensatory damages award, Judge Lorna G.
