Corteva Pushes to Toss ‘Hollow’ Inari Claims in Seed-Patent Suit

Corteva Inc. urged a federal judge to dismiss Inari Agriculture Inc.’s allegations that it’s using patent-infringement litigation over genetically modified seeds to stifle competition and maintain its dominant market position.

Inari’s claims in a Nov. 14 court filingaren’t legally valid, and the court lacks jurisdiction over some of them, Corteva said in a supporting brief filed Monday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. Corteva asked Judge John F. Murphy to toss Inari’s counterclaims and strike its affirmative defenses.
