Court Nixes Subscriber Challenge to $2.3 Million NYT Settlement

A class member involved in a settlement between the New York Times and its California subscribers failed to convince a federal appeals court that the agreement was unfair, unreasonable, and inequitable.

A district court didn’t abuse its discretion when it approved attorneys’ fees and costs, an incentive award for the named plaintiff, and various parties’ Article III standing, the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said in a Tuesday summary order.
