International Paper Co. Settles Disability Discrimination Suit

International Paper Co. will pay $65,000 and provide other relief to settle a US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission lawsuit filed over alleged disability discrimination in the company’s Grand Prairie, Texas, location, the EEOC said Wednesday.

An applicant’s offer of employment allegedly was revoked after he failed a drug test, even though he alerted the company that he took prescribed medication for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, the agency said.
