Match Group to Pay $14 Million to Resolve FTC Deception Suit (2)

Dating app company Match Group Inc. will pay $14 million to resolve charges from the Federal Trade Commission that it misrepresented customer guarantees and made cancellation practices difficult, according to a proposed order the agency filed Tuesday.

The company will also have to disclose the terms of the “six-month” guarantee it makes to customers, refrain from retaliating against customers who file billing disputes, and provide a simple way to cancel subscriptions, the order filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas said.
