Ohio State Gets Partial Win in Sex Discrimination Lawsuit

Ohio State University convinced a federal judge to toss a claim from a sex discrimination lawsuit brought by an associate professor who said her mistreatment and loss of a promotion is emblematic of how the institution treats female faculty members.

Turi Aarnes, an associate professor in the university’s veterinary clinical sciences department, didn’t sufficiently plead allegations that support her Title VII unequal pay claim, Judge Algenon L. Marbley wrote Thursday. The claim was one of four that Aarnes is pursuing against the Columbus-based university over what she said was unfair treatment after a resident complained about their interactions.
