Texas Supreme Court Rejects Traxcell’s Bid in Verizon Fees Fight

The Texas Supreme Court declined to review a state judge’s order requiring Traxcell Technologies LLC to turn over its patents to a court-appointed receiver cementing a win for Verizon Wireless Personal Communications LP in a nearly eight-year-long dispute.

A McLennan County judge granted Verizon’s request to stop Traxcell from selling its patents in March 2024, then placed the company’s property into a receivership. The patent owner said in its February petition to the state high court that the trial court’s use of a turnover order to resolve Verizon’s request was unconstitutional and should’ve been preceded by a jury trial.
