Trump Mail-in Voting Order Gets Icy Reception From Boston Judge

A US judge reviewing President Donald Trump’s executive order on mail-in voting criticized the government’s push for an admittedly incomplete voter list that could disenfranchise residents and put elections officials in legal jeopardy.

During a hearing Tuesday, Judge Indira Talwani of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts pressed the Justice Department on the president’s order for the Department of Homeland Security to draw up a list of confirmed citizens, which states could use in creating a list of eligible mail-in voters to provide to the US Postal Service.
