WSP Health Plan, Transgender Woman End Suit Over Facial Surgery

WSP USA Inc.‘s health plan and a transgender woman agreed to close a benefits lawsuit alleging she was unlawfully denied coverage for facial feminization surgery.

Judge Haywood S. Gilliam Jr. granted the parties’ request to dismiss the case with prejudice, according to a Wednesday order for the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Andi Cox sued WSP USA under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, claiming the language in her employee benefit plan barred her from gender dysphoria treatment.
