Adani’s Global Ambitions Are The Next Casualty of Bribery Probe

Hours after US federal prosecutors indicted Gautam Adani over a bribery plot last week, Kenya canceled $2.6 billion worth of airport and power transmission contracts the tycoon’s conglomerate had pitched for.

It likely won’t be the only setback for the billionaire’s global ambitions after the shock US indictment that names him, his nephew Sagar Adani and associates in a $250 million bribery scheme to secure Indian solar energy contracts.

Besides planning roughly $12 billion in contracts to build sea ports, airports and electricity transmission lines in countries from Vietnam to Israel, Asia’s second-richest person had also announced intentions to invest ...
