Blackstone’s Clarion Sale Is Said to Attract FountainVest, ICG

Blackstone Inc.’s planned sale of a stake in exhibition organizer Clarion Events is attracting interest from private equity firms including FountainVest Partners and Intermediate Capital Group Plc, people with knowledge of the matter said.

FountainVest and ICG are among several parties that have submitted initial proposals about a deal for Clarion, the people said, asking not to be identified because the information is private. Some suitors may be interested in buying only a minority stake or part of the business, according to the people.
