Bunge Diverts Argentina Soybean Meal Ship Bound for China (1)

Bunge Global SA, one of the world’s largest agricultural commodities traders, diverted a rare cargo of Argentine soybean meal originally bound for China, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

The vessel was redirected to Southeast Asia, with Bunge opting to send China a separate cargo from Argentina at a later date, said the people, who asked not to be named as they are not authorized to talk to media.

The rare shipment is being closely monitored by traders after Chinese buyers purchased at least two vessels of Argentine soybean meal this year on a trial basis. Traders ...
