Deutsche Said to Hire Citi M&A Banker for Senior Dealmaking Role

Deutsche Bank AG has hired Citigroup Inc. banker Omar Iqtidar for a senior dealmaking role as the German firm builds out its mergers and acquisition business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, according to people familiar with the matter.

Iqtidar, who is currently based in London, was most recently Citigroup’s head of M&A for Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. He handled key relationships, including with some Gulf sovereign wealth funds, the people said, asking not to be named discussing information that isn’t public.

Representatives for Citigroup and Deutsche Bank declined to comment.
