GFL Environmental Said to Near Buyout of Texas Waste Operator

Waste management company GFL Environmental Inc. is close to a deal to acquire Frontier Waste Solutions, which manages dozens of sites in Texas, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The transaction would be worth about $900 million, the person said, speaking on condition they not be identified because the matter is still private. Some Frontier shareholders will take GFL shares as part of the deal, the person said.

Dallas-based Frontier was founded in 2017 with the acquisition of several waste companies in north, south and central Texas and has almost 1,000 employees.
