London’s IPO Fortunes Brighten After Year-End Deals Rebound

A late burst of initial public offerings alleviated the UK’s deal drought this year, prompting optimism for a long-awaited recovery in 2026.

Driving the comeback is a series of IPOs in the last two months: $539 million from Princes Group Plc, $531 million from bank Shawbrook Group Plc and $500 million from buyout vehicle Mayflower Acquisition Ltd. In total, about $2 billion was raised by companies in London this year, roughly double 2024’s total. Before October, the exchange was on course to raise a fraction of last year’s result.
