Mexican Football Team Atlas Owned by Former Trader Up for Sale

Atlas Fútbol Club, a Guadalajara-based team, is being put up for sale by its owners to comply with rules regarding multi-team ownership, according to people familiar with the matter.

Atlas is owned by Orlegi Sports, a Mexican investment firm led by Alejandro Irarragorri, a former commodities trader. The Liga MX club has hired investment bank Moelis & Co. and law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP to advise on the sale, the people said, asking not to be named discussing private information.
