NextDecade Signs Longterm LNG Deal With Jera on Expansion (1)

NextDecade Corp. agreed to sell liquefied natural gas to Japan’s Jera Co. as the US developer works to lock in sales from an expansion of its export plant in Texas.

Jera will buy 2 million tons of LNG a year on a free-on-board basis from the Rio Grande facility’s fifth production unit, NextDecade said in a statement. The price will be indexed to the US benchmark Henry Hub.

NextDecade shares were up 4.8% in premarket trading in New York on Thursday.
