Poland’s InPost Accelerates UK Expansion With Takeover of Yodel

Polish parcel locker operator InPost SA announced it’s taking over UK delivery service Yodel to boost its footprint in one of the most developed e-commerce markets in Europe.

The transaction will allow InPost to bolster its UK market share to about 8% from 2% now, the company said in a statement Thursday. The deal follows the takeover of logistic company Menzies Distribution Ltd. last year, which helped InPost double parcel volumes and make its UK operations profitable.

InPost acquired 95.5% of Judge Logistics Ltd., Yodel’s parent company, with PayPoint retaining a minority stake of 4.5%. InPost had already provided JLL ...
