New York could be the first state in the US to require commercial insurers to offer coverage for fertility services like egg and sperm freezing.
A new bill sponsored by state Sen. Michelle Hinchey would ask insurance plans to add those fertility services as a benefit for employees even when they’re not considered infertile due to a medical treatment or exam, like chemotherapy.
