A DC law firm known for GOP-side election work tapped a Gibson Dunn partner to run its newly launched New York City office, with an eye on Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s power.
“There’s been an unwillingness from larger law firms to challenge the new administration in the city, and I think that that is problematic,” Akiva Shapiro, the new head of Holtzman Vogel’s Manhattan HQ, told me.
