Alex Bores says he quit his job as an engineer for Palantir Technologies Inc. in 2019 because of moral objections to its work for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

It’s a key part of the New York assemblyman’s message as he campaigns in a crowded Democratic primary for a congressional seat in Manhattan, with a platform that includes boosting regulation of artificial intelligence. That’s made him a target of the AI industry and a political action committee that has already spent more than $1 million on ads critical of Bores.
