Shell Says It’s Open to Scrapping Quarterly Earnings If Peers Do

Shell Plc would follow its industry peers if there was a wider move to scrap quarterly earnings, but wouldn’t lead the effort, said Chief Financial Officer Sinead Gorman.

Wall Street’s main regulator is “prioritizing” a proposal from President Donald Trump to reduce the frequency of corporate earnings reports. Shell has more capital deployed in the US than any other country, Gorman said, a large presence in Houston and significant operations in the Gulf of Mexico.
