Call Your Mother Settles ‘Call Your Bubbi’ Bagel Trademark Suit

Jan. 7, 2026, 12:29 AM UTC

Call Your Mother, a Washington DC-based bagel shop, settled a trademark infringement case against New Jersey deli Call Your Bubbi.

Call Your Mother Corp. and Bubbies Bagels LLC filed a stipulation of dismissal on Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey. They said they reached an agreement to resolve the case and will move to dismiss the suit with prejudice when the terms of the deal, which aren’t public, are executed.

Call Your Mother sued Bubbies in November, alleging the New Jersey shop will confuse consumers into perceiving an affiliation because the names have an identical start followed by a word that denotes “a caring and nurturing Jewish matriarch.” Bubbie commonly refers to a Jewish grandmother, the complaint said.

Blank Rome LLP represents Call Your Mother. Brooks Kushman PC represents Bubbies.

The case is Call Your Mother Corp. v. Bubbies Bagels LLC, D.N.J., No. 25-cv-17661, stipulation filed 1/6/26.
