The Federal Trade Commission said Wednesday that it reached a settlement with robot toy maker Apitor Technology Co. for allegedly failing to notify parents before collecting and sharing their children’s geolocation data with a Chinese third-party.
The FTC complaint says the company violated the Children’s Online Privacy Protection rule by failing to obtain parental consent before collecting the sensitive data.
