Marine Must Show Cause to Waive Time Limit on Camp Lejeune Suit

A former marine who alleges her daughter developed leukemia from exposure to groundwater contamination while living at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina will have her claims tossed unless she can justify her late filing, the Eastern District of New York said.

Bernadette Rodriguez has 30 days to show why the six-month statute of limitations that applies to her Federal Tort Claims Act suit should be tolled, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York said Oct. 2.
