McDermott Will & Emery LLP allegedly subjected a Black former associate to “egregious and open racism” and threatened witnesses’ jobs when she initiated an internal bias investigation.
The firm excluded Ashley Ogedegbe from important trainings and gave her White colleagues more work opportunities, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She lost her job after taking her bias concerns to McDermott’s human resources team despite positive performance reviews, the suit says.
