The University of California said it will take to court the union representing 48,000 of its graduate student workers after the state’s public labor board declined to halt a strike that has led to canceled classes and blocked facilities.
UC said in a statement Monday that it would file a breach of contract lawsuit in state court against the United Auto Workers Local 4811 to force thousands of graduate student employees on at least five campuses back to work.
