Tijuana Flats, a casual Mexican restaurant chain located primarily in Florida, has filed bankruptcy with a deal to sell the business to new owners.

  • Tijuana Flats said the proposed sale to new owners, Flatheads LLC, was the culmination of a strategic review of the business that began in November
    • The proposed sale must be approved by a bankruptcy judge
  • Founded in 1995, the company said it closed 11 locations this week and that Flatheads has proposed initiatives to improve the consistency of the chain’s food and speed of service
