Wayve in Talks to Raise $2 Billion from Microsoft, SoftBank: FT

Wayve Technologies Inc., a British artificial intelligence startup focused on self-driving car technology, is in talks to raise as much as $2 billion from Microsoft Corp. and SoftBank Group Corp., the Financial Times reported.

The funding round would value Wayve at about $8 billion, the newspaper said, citing people familiar with the matter who it didn’t identify.

Wayve has become one of the most prominent artificial intelligence startups in the UK and raised more than $1 billion in 2024 from a group that included Microsoft and SoftBank. The company is preparing a trial of robotaxis in London ...
